People are my passion.

For more than two decades, I have witnessed the incredible unleashing of potential found in the lives of individuals and the organizations they create.

In addition to leading a variety of organizations over the past 24 years, I have coached thousands of individuals and consulted with numerous organizations in the U.S. and overseas. I have also dedicated the past two decades of my life to formal education in leadership, coaching, and organization development while also engaging with leading-edge thinkers, the latest research, and best practices, so I can offer you practical support rooted in time-tested approaches.

I grew up along the shores of Lake Superior in the modest city of Duluth, MN. I was a timid and insecure kiddo. One of my elementary school teachers was one of the most intuitive and encouraging individuals I have ever known. It was like she could see deep inside me and my classmates’ lives, identify hidden aspects of our personhood, call these out, and then encourage us to embody them and foster their growth. Her words and actions helped me see myself and believe in myself in a way I never had before. Her attitude and approach had a profound impact on the culture of our classroom, creating a positive space where all could thrive. Through this, I witnessed first hand what the power of coaching and positive, vulnerable leadership can unleash in the life of an individual and collectively in a group of people.

Since then, I have oriented my life around better understanding these ideas while also engaging as a coach and consultant to individuals and the organizations that they create. I believe in the power of human potential and the way a seasoned coach and skilled leader can help support a transformative process in the life of an individual and the organization they are part of.

It all started with a teacher who believed in us

I have spent over two decades honing my skills.

I graduated high school toward the top of my class and went on to pursue an Bachelor of Arts in both Communication & Spanish. I furthered my education by pursuing a Master of Divinity with a focus on organizational leadership and counseling. Several years later I received a Master of Business Administration in Organization Development with a focus on leadership and change. I have spent the past 24 years as a top-level leader in a variety of dynamic organizations, giving me boots-on-the ground experience in organizational leadership, management, strategic planning, marketing, and communication. I worked for over a decade helping to oversee international development projects in Nicaragua. I have served as a leadership coach, life coach, or spiritual coach for thousands of individuals over my career. I have spent the past 15 years as an organizational consultant providing support to organizations and businesses around strategic planning, project management, brand development, organizational structure, personnel issues, marketing strategies, workplace culture, and leadership development. In this capacity, I have also led internal assessments around employee wellbeing, job satisfaction, and workplace culture. Further, I have offered on-site or virtual training on a variety of topics to help build leadership capacity in organizations. I have also served as a workshop presenter and conference speaker on the topics of leadership, finding one’s ultimate purpose, innovation, workplace culture, building a brand, and fundraising strategies.

On a personal note

I am a passionate adventurer who enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. This includes camping, backpacking, hiking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, and surfing (when in warmer parts of the world).

I am a collector of old things including vintage pens, books about WWII, pocket watches, and vinyl records. There is something so satisfying to me about living in the simple world of all things analog.

I am a lover of experiences. This includes delicious food and drink, especially shared in the company of new or old friends and interesting conversation and also travel to foreign places to experience new cultures.

I am a spiritual seeker. I’ve always been kind of a mystic and love having deep conversations around how to live a meaningful life and what this reality is all about.

I’m a drummer. I’ve been tapping on things ever since I could remember. My mom bought me a pair of drum sticks when I was 11. Shortly after, I taught myself how to play the drums and have played with various bands ever since.

I feel like part of my heart is still somewhere in Mexico or Central America. I spent quite a bit of time in Nicaragua in the 1990’s and have been to Mexico and Costa Rica a good amount. Though once fluent, my Spanish is a bit rusty these days and more often resembles Nicaraguan street Spanish.
